The design of the mosque expresses a hybrid intention of being both welcoming and modern, through preserving the vernacular historical formations and later crowned with a multi-planate, squarish roof that integrates a fresh sense of contemporariness.

The multi-slope shape of the roof divides the rain and creates a 2-directional water flow that resembles a sense of continuous serenity. Such a feat was achieved using the KAWA KZ Standing Seam metal roof  with higher ribs that guide visual waterflow and help expose the grandeur of its patterned roof design.

Regardless of heavy rainfall, the KAWA KZ Standing Seam metal roof with high rib height of 65mm can cater even secondary water flow to the side of the roof valley and down the gutter without the worry of side lap leaking.

The slab of the roof is engineered to shelter its dwellers from the elements, aimed to create a generous space for a simple rest of mind.

A double-skin roof with 100mm rockwool insulation was integrated to achieve required acoustic performance. The roof sound insulation achieves the acoustic performance of Sound Transmission Class (STC) 42 to 45 which is sufficient to instil quietness from worldly airborne sounds. Where thermal comfort is equally crucial, the layer of 100mm roof heat insulation complies with the U-value requirements of UBBL38a in a new building, helping to lower heat transmission into the building especially when bathed in sunny light.

The KAWA R760 screw fixing profile was installed as liners to achieve higher acoustic performance and ultimately increase indoor comfort.
